Personal, business and BC deadlines for the 2026 tax year and the 2027 filing season, in plain language.

Quick answer: For 2026 personal returns, file and pay by April 30, 2027. If you or your spouse or partner are self-employed, file by June 15, 2027, but still pay by April 30. The RRSP deadline for 2026 is March 1, 2027.

Tax deadlines have a way of sneaking up on everybody. These are the dates clients ask about most, in the order they come up. When a due date falls on a weekend or holiday, the CRA moves it to the next business day.

Is PST charged on accounting and bookkeeping in BC right now?

As of October 31, 2026, no. Budget 2026 planned to apply 7% PST to accounting and bookkeeping services from October 1, 2026. On September 18, 2026 the Province paused that expansion through a temporary regulation, so the exemption stays in place. A pause is not a cancellation and no new start date has been announced, so this page will be updated if that changes.

How do I stay on top of all this?
